For the second year in a row, JDC Central has decided to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa because of the agency’s dedication shown to fostering positive relationships.

JDC Central (JDCC) is a three day event that brings together business students from across central and eastern Canada. Modeled after the other successful competitions around Canada, JDC West and Jeux du Commerce, JDCC showcases academic case analysis, parliamentary style debates, sport tournaments and social challenges. The goal of the weekend is to test school spirit, teamwork and determination; the ultimate goal being "School of the Year".

The Sprott School of Business, at Carleton University, is proud to be hosting the largest competition in JDCC's three year history from January 20-23, 2012.  JDCC is entirely student run and as a result unites many young minds through spirit, camaraderie and friendly competition.

Academics and careers aside, students have realized the importance of giving back to the community that has given so much to them. As such, a significant part of the competition is the charity component. Each year, the Organizing Committee selects a charity for each of the teams to raise money for through their Groovin' for Charity event, a day-long dance-a-thon. Upon looking at BBBSO statistics of how school grades and self-confidence were improved through mentoring program, JDCC feels they have chosen the perfect charity. ‘With our contribution, we hope that Littles can become successful business leaders much like the delegates of JDCC aspire to be.“ says Christine Jackson, Co-Chair JDC Central 2012.
