After conducting an extensive search, the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa (BBBSO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Eves |
as Executive Director effective June 23, 2008. He will succeed Lois Allen, retiring, who has served in this position since 2002.
Robert is responsible for the day-to-day operations of BBBSO to achieve the goals and further the mission of the organization, to foster, facilitate and support volunteer based mentoring programs for children in need. Robert brings to BBBSO more than 10 years experience in non-profit management including 5 years at the senior executive level, most recently in his previous post as Executive Director of the Community Outreach Programs in Addictions (COPA) in Toronto, Ontario. Robert is experienced in developing and implementing innovative community based services and programs in consultation with key stakeholders, as well as comfortable in working closely with a volunteer Board of Directors and in providing strategic analysis and advice to executive committees. He also has demonstrated ability to initiate and foster robust partnerships and strategic alliances with government, allied agencies and stakeholders for the effective delivery of programs and services to clients. Robert received his Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto in 1993 after completing his Bachelor degree in Arts at Queen's University in 1991. BBBSO, a proud member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, is the fourth largest agency in Canada, serving over 1,100 children annually. BBBSO has been serving the Ottawa community for more than 38 years and is recognized for its leadership and award winning innovative programming. BBBSO is a member of United Way/Centraide Ottawa.
