Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Number 1 FUN-draiser!

Bowl For Kids’ Sake really puts the fun in fundraiser. It’s our biggest annual campaign, where people like you get together with family, close friends, and even co-workers for a fun evening of bowling in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa’s mentoring programs for youth.

This year Bowl For Kids’ Sake understandably looks a little different! Since we cannot meet in person at this time, this year’s BFKS event is your opportunity to come up with an innovative way to bowl from the comfort of your home and raise funds for an amazing cause.

Have some fun with the items around your home you can bowl with. Your bowling ball could be a soccer ball and pins could be bottles, cans, toys etc. We encourage you to get creative and think outside the box!

Reach out to your peers and ask for donations. Funds raised will match a young person with a mentor – giving them a lifeline.

Register as a household and have some fun getting the family involved. Once you register and start collecting your donations, record yourself on video bowling from home and post it on social media anytime you like, tagging BBBSO* and using the #Bowl4KidsOttawa hashtag.

Prizes will be awarded for the top fundraising individual, top fundraising household and funniest video categories – psst – it may involve PIZZA…

To qualify, you must register, raise funds and post a video on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok or LinkedIn) and tag BBBSO. Your goal is to raise a minimum of $125 per bowler. We cannot wait to see your creativity and your videos!

**Remember to Tag @BBBSO on Facebook and Twitter, @bbbsottawa on Instagram and TikTok, and @Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa on LinkedIn.

We look forward to seeing your creative ideas for bowling from home!

A Change of Shoes Can Change a Life

Lacing up your bowling shoes and fundraising for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa can make a huge difference in the lives of youth and children. Studies have shown that for every dollar invested in mentoring programs for youth, $18 is returned to society.

The mentoring effect a Big has on their Little is also powerful. These same studies have shown that participants in Big Brothers Big Sisters programs see positive changes to their future employment prospects, huge boosts to their life skills, improvements in their well-being, and (of course) greater involvement in philanthropic efforts.

These mentorship programs aren’t possible without the support of donors and volunteers like you.
