In a post-pandemic era where many colleagues work remotely, getting together in-person with your coworkers is more important than ever! Team-building has always mattered, and MEGABike is an easy way to get everyone together in an easy, fun, and unique way — and all to support our work for youth here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa.

Your team will spend part of the workday outdoors having fun, socializing, and getting a little physical activity together. Get to know your colleagues in a different setting, while riding together on the MEGABike: a huge 30-seater bicycle! It’s a simple fitness activity than anyone can do, about the equivalent effort of riding a regular bike by yourself. It’s the ultimate blend of team-building and giving back to your community!

Your support of MEGABike enables us to continue our life-changing work for youth facing adversity in Ottawa. We provide impactful and proven mentorship programs, including our flagship “Big Brother” and “Big Sister” programs, where we pair caring adult mentors in the community with youth whose life path would greatly benefit from the relationship, friendship, and guidance.

• Customized Company Page for Team Challenge Fundraising
Fundraising is optional but encouraged, and this page makes it easy for your employees to raise funds online from their family and friends (called “peer to peer” fundraising). We recommended asking your employees to set a minimum team goal of $1000 together. Consider appointing a team captain to help keep the team on track with their fundraising, and have fun competing against other local companies.

• Your Team’s MEGABike Ride!
Your one-hour timeslot includes your company’s MEGABike ride for 3 KM, which will take about 30 minutes. Before you ride, there will be a demo, party tunes, noisemakers, and more — get pumped! A MEGABike pro will be in the front seat to lead your group. Registering your team earlier gives you more options for your choice of time slot on Oct. 1 or Oct. 2.

• Video footage of your team riding together

• Commemorative photo taken of your team with the MEGABike

• Company name on the front of the MEGABike during your ride

• Featured on “Thank You” signage – minimum of four (4) signs on-site

• Recognition / logo on BBBSO’s website (on MEGABike Page)

• Thanks in a minimum of one (1) set of posts on social media posts thanking all MEGABike teams together (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)

• Company thanked in at least one (1) email communications to database of ~6,000 supporters

• Facebook Event Co-Hosting (to showcase your support of the event to your followers)

• Permission to promote your affiliation with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa and use our branding in any of your communications about your community support

Please Note: Not all riders needs to be your employees! This is a great opportunity to bring out everyone that supports your place of work, including clients, vendors, friends, and family members. Celebrate together! Anyone aged 14+ can ride. Also, it takes about 15 people minimum on the MEGABike to get it moving, so we’ll have volunteers available to join your team’s ride on-site if needed!
