Amanda believes that meaningful relationships have the power to change the trajectory of a person’s life. Throughout her career and community involvement, she has been driven by a simple idea: when people feel seen, supported, and connected, they are more likely to thrive.
She currently works for the Government of Canada in employee engagement and organizational digital transformation. Prior to joining the public service, Amanda spent more than a decade supporting youth navigating addiction, mental health challenges, and the youth justice system. Growing up, she also coached and played competitive soccer, where she developed a passion for creating environments where everyone feels they belong and can succeed.
Amanda is energized by bringing people together, celebrating the strengths of others, and helping people recognize their own potential. She believes representation matters, but true inclusion means creating spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to bring their authentic selves. Whether mentoring colleagues, connecting people across organizations, or building community partnerships, she believes lasting impact begins with an authentic human connection.
These experiences inspired Amanda to join the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa. She believes mentorship creates ripple effects that extend far beyond a single match, strengthening individuals, families, and communities. She is excited to contribute her experience in relationship building, governance, strategic engagement, and community leadership to help advance the organization’s mission.
