Cody Sorensen is a business owner and entrepreneur with a background in corporate finance and consulting. He previously served as Managing Director at Welch Capital Partners and held earlier roles in banking with the Royal Bank of Canada. Cody holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Guelph and an MBA from Queen’s University. He is also a two-time Olympian in the sport of bobsled.
Cody’s decision to join the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa (BBBSO) Board reflects his deep belief in service and giving back to the community. For him, mentoring has been a cornerstone of personal and professional growth—an influence he credits with shaping his achievements, building his confidence, and driving his success. He sees mentoring as a way to pay it forward and help the next generation reach their full potential.
Throughout his career in both finance and entrepreneurship, Cody has seen the power of diverse perspectives and inclusive leadership. Whether in the boardroom, on the field of play, or leading a business, he believes the best outcomes come from empowering people and building strong teams.
