Although Negeen is the youngest in her family, she has always been drawn to the role of a big sister. She understands the powerful impact mentorship can have, and supporting youth has long been close to her heart.
This passion led her to become a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa during her university years. Whether in her community, throughout her education, or in her professional life, mentorship remains a central value. Negeen is a labour and employment lawyer with Emond Harnden L. L. P. in Ottawa, practising across all areas of labour and employment law, with a particular interest in the education sector.
She works with both public and private sector employers to provide support across a range of interesting and dynamic labour and employment matters. As the daughter of first-generation Canadians and the first lawyer in her family, Negeen is deeply appreciative of the mentorship she has received and the opportunities she has been able to access. She is committed to paying that forward by helping to create opportunities for young people in her community, empowering them to reach their goals and realize their full potential. This commitment is what makes BBBSO’s mission and her role as a Board member especially meaningful to her.
