Fashion for Futures Ottawa

For the first time, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa will bring the Ottawa community to the Canadian Museum of Nature’s Rotunda for a night of networking & slow, sustainable fashion with Fashion for Futures Ottawa on Friday, April 17th. It’s slow fashion, with a fast fashion feel! Please note: this event is 19+.

This one-of-a-kind Fashion Show will feature some of Ottawa’s most fashionable celebrities from diverse communities, with business, political, influencer, and media backgrounds, for a thrifted fashion show powered by BBBSO’s Social Enterprise, Thrive Select Thrift! All proceeds will be going towards providing life-changing support for youth in our community.

All funds raised from the Fashion for Futures Ottawa will go directly to creating mentorship matches in Ottawa and Renfrew County.

What to wear:

Fashion for Futures is all about a high-fashion feel with a slow fashion look. We’re inviting guests to lean into bold silhouettes, elevated styling, and statement pieces, all created from thrifted, vintage, upcycled, or slow-fashion finds. Think runway-inspired looks with intention: structured blazers, dramatic layers, standout accessories, classic dresses and suits, or unexpected textures to stand out among the crowd!

This is your chance to reimagine pre-loved pieces in a way that feels luxurious, creative, and fashionable. Dress to express, dress with purpose, and show how conscious fashion can make a powerful statement.

We welcome all body types and diverse, inclusive outfits.

What Fashion for Futures looks like:

6:00 pm-7:15 pm:  Arrival & networking. DJ, cocktail bar, thrift shopping, appetizers, & special features.

7:15 pm-8:15 pm: Speeches, official fashion show, prizes.

8:15 pm-9:00 pm: Networking, meet the models, thrift shopping the celebrity racks.
