Supporting BBBSO Families in Need This Holiday Season
This holiday season, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa (BBBSO) is reaching out to invite generous supporters to help make 2025 a bit brighter for BBBSO families in need of extra kindness this time of year.
By donating funds or gift cards, you can make a real difference, enabling families to shop for groceries and gifts to celebrate the season.
Holiday Hamper Packages
Below are some identified levels of support to help one of our families in need, though any amount is appreciated and can make a difference.
The level for each package has increased this year to reflect the higher cost of living. If you gave at a smaller level in 2024 and can’t increase in 2025 please don’t let that discourage you from supporting! Please give what you can and we will make sure a family in need will have a happier holiday season.
SNOWBALL PACKAGE (FAMILY OF 2) $250
- $150 gift card for groceries (Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, Fresh Co or Food Basics)
- $100 Gift Card for gifts (Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Amazon, Winners or Toys R Us)
SNOW GLOBE PACKAGE (FAMILY OF 3) $350
- $150 gift card for groceries (Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, Fresh Co or Food Basics)
- $200 Gift Card for gifts (Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Amazon, Winners or Toys R Us)
SNOW ANGEL PACKAGE (FAMILY OF 4) $500
- $200 gift card for groceries (Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, Fresh Co or Food Basics)
- $300 Gift Card for gifts (Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Amazon, Winners or Toys R Us)
SNOWMAN PACKAGE (FAMILY OF 5) $650

SNOW KINGDOM PACKAGE (FAMILY OF 6+) $750

How To Support
Donating Funds?
Please fill out the online donation form HERE. If you provide a greeting, we will make sure the family you end up supporting will receive your kind words. Charitable Tax receipts will be generated automatically upon completion of your donation.
Donating Gift Cards?
Please ensure that the gift card activation receipts are included, and you’ve attached the completed HOLIDAY HAMPERS DONATION FORM. A tax receipt is available for your gift card and will be sent to you in January 2026.
NEW DROP OFF LOCATION in 2025—Please drop off your gift cards BEFORE the end of day on Friday, December 5th to the BBBSO’s Social Enterprise, Thrive Select Thrift (Located at 1547 Merivale Rd., Unit 3). Drop offs can be done 10 AM—6 PM between Tuesday—Friday or 11 AM—5 PM on Saturday. Thrive Select Thrift is closed on Sunday and Monday. When dropping off at Thrive Select Thrift, please ask to speak to the Manager.
