Happy Holidays from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa!

Little Wishes, Big Dreams – the BBBSO Holiday Giving Campaign Continues

The staff and board of BBBSO wants to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season!  We are all still feeling the wonderful effects of our Holiday Hamper delivery day and reflecting on the amazing impact so many of you have had on families and Littles around Ottawa in 2019.

By Now, you may have seen posts on our social media platforms of our ‘Little Wishes’ campaign.  We want you to meet some of the very deserving Littles on our wait list! We hope to match Karim, Jude, Solomon, Jasmine, Adrian and many others as soon as possible in the new year!

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR A LOCAL YOUNG PERSON THIS HOLIDAY SEASON.

“I want a Big Brother to play sports, video games and have lightsaber battles with.” – Bodhi, age 9

Bodhi crucially needs a male role model in his life – someone to ask questions to and who can help guide him through childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. Waiting is hard for a nine year old.

There are currently 60 young people in Ottawa waiting to be matched with a mentor, but it’s not because there are no potential Bigs available to be matched.  It is rather because it costs $1500 to create and support each match we make for one full year, and this ‘Giving Season’ BBBSO set an aggressive target to try to raise $90,000 in eight weeks in order to try support the sixty matches we have on our waiting list.

THANK YOU to everyone who has already donated and supported us in this capaign! To date we have raised just over $8000 which represents about 9% of our target. You can still make a gift today and help grant a child their wish as the campaign continues until December 31st!

You can provide these outcomes to a child by giving them the valuable gift of mentorship.

Please make a gift today and help grant a child their wish.
