Pickleball is so popular in Ottawa that it was time for the first festival for the sport! We’re proud to welcome you to the Orléans Pickleball Festival — Presented by Ken Gordon Holdings!

Recreation Tournament—Presented by Heart of Orléans BIA

For beginners to competent players, self-assessed skill level 1.0 to 3.0. Families and corporate teams welcome. Win the “No Big Dill” Cup!

FORMAT FOR BOTH TOURNAMENTS

  1. Doubles format. Players ranked individually throughout tournament. A win is 3 points for each member of the winning team, a tie is 2, and a loss is 1.
  2. Players register in the tournament as individuals and not as teams. One purchaser may buy multiple players at the same time, as long as each player can individually agree to the terms during registration.
  3. 64 players in each tournament. All players guaranteed 5 games minimum. After 5 rounds, Top 16 will proceed, followed by Top 8, then Top 4.
  4. A game goes to 11 points or 12 minutes, whichever comes first.
  5. Games are self-regulated (no referees), but an appointed tournament staff will make decisions on disputes, and those decisions are final.
  6. Players understand that the tournament format can change at the discretion of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa should a need be determined.

As you register for the tournaments, each participant will be asked for the following:

  1. AGREEMENT TO MANDATORY WAIVER: There is a mandatory waiver required from the Orléans Tennis & Pickleball Club in order to participate. Read the waiver here, and each person must confirm they understand and agree to it as part of this registration process.
  2. SELF-ASSESSED SKILL LEVEL: Simply a self-assessment of your pickleball skill. Refer to Pickleball Canada’s Skills Self-Assessment Chart hereThis is used to help you determine which tournament is best for you, and to help us if we need to adjust the tournament format at all. Don’t overthink it, and if you’re a true beginner or don’t know, just put 1.0!
  3. PADDLE REQUIRED: All registrants agree to bring their own paddle, as they will not be available at the event. Balls will be provided.
  4. CANCELLATION TERMS: If the event is cancelled due to weather or any circumstances outside of our control, there will be no refunds to tournament registrants, and we appreciate your understanding. The festival is run by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa, a registered charity supporting at-risk youth. This said, trust that your funds will be put to excellent use supporting youth in our growing city, and we appreciate your support of our work very much.
