Please Note:

COVID-19 Update: We are currently accepting online applications for the Big Brothers, MPower and Mentoring In School programs. A staff member will be in touch with you after you have submitted your completed application in order to schedule your training and interview.

Thank you for your interest in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa and Renfrew County. We are thrilled that you recognize the value of youth mentoring and the impact it can have on the life of a child as we are always looking for like-minded people to get involved and support our cause.

As you can appreciate, we have a constant need for volunteers in Ottawa; however, our requirements for specific programs can vary.

Please review our  Volunteer Programs and time commitments required  for each program thoroughly to select the right program for you. Selecting your program according to your daytime OR evening/weekend availability is necessary before moving forward with completing an application. Your availability to mentor will direct you to different program applications:

  • 1 hour a week will automatically direct you to In School Mentoring for a minimum of 12 weeks;
  • 2-4 hours a week and more will automatically direct you to Big Brothers/Big Sisters and MPower programs where you will be required to have evening and weekend availability and a minimum 1 year commitment for Big Brothers/Big Sisters and 2 years for MPower.

Please review our programs here. We also encourage you to review our  FAQ page.

If you have any questions or require assistance in choosing a program, please contact Shelly-Ann McMorris at 613-247-4776, ext. 325.
